Taken to soon... / Gary Cosgrove (Aquaintance)
Though I only met Patti a few times, she left an impression on me for many years. When I got to spend time with her in March at the fundraiser, Night of a Thousand Gowns, where she performed, we hit it off & made plans to keep in touch, She wanted to be involved in next year's Gala & help us raise money for the HIV/AIDS community. Her smile, sense of humor & outlook on life was infectious. Patti kept us all laughing in the green room & when she, Darlene and Ula were finished performing, she hung out with us the rest of the night & danced the night away.
I had finally got the pictures back from the photographer and she wanted copies of us & the evening. As I geared up to send them to her email address, I got the devastating news of her passing.
Life is not fair but my life was made a little bit brighter because I had an opportunity to be touched by Patti's presence. I will always remember her & at next year's Gala I intend to follow through with honoring her life by knighting her "DAME for Life" of the Imperial Court of New York.
By deepest sympathy to Courtney & Patti's Family.
Sincerely,
Gary Cosgrove
